Part One

 

I live in a newly built apartment in the early phase of a major housing project. The whole process is years behind the first mooted schedule of regeneration and some of that may well be the developers are riding the crest of appreciating property prices. Now the main fabrication of the new tower blocks is taking place, one off to the left, one much farther and in the right then signs of new infill so that before long I will not see the first building in the project constructed or the traditional main road behind. The work is intense now with concrete, floors and more steel and frames to cast key building points in the addition of level after level.
