For a second Kian looked alarmed, and then he said, “Nah. He’s in Penzance, remember?”

“He’s got a me a new flatmate. Guy called Trevor. He’s doing a Ph.D. and the guy he’s sharing with at the moment is a bit of a pain. First year student and out until all hours; and won’t do his share of chores in the flat. Garry’s told him I’ll be a much better flatmate,” ended Kian smugly.

“Do you think he’s told him about spanking you?” I enquired.

“The cases were open and he’s got some cool shirts and a few pairs of jeans of course. He’d hung a couple of things in the wardrobe; the doors were open, and I could see a leather-jacket and long raincoat. I slid my hand over the jacket, because leather’s nice to feel; and just happened to notice something hanging on the bar of the hanger with the raincoat.”

He crossed to the wardrobe, reached inside the hanging coat and pulled out a cane. I stared.

“What the hell’s he doing with a thing like this?” he asked me, slashing the cane downwards at high speed so that it whined and I winced instinctively.

“Do you want your mate to stay?” enquired Trevor.

As if stung by an angry hornet, Kian leapt into action, unbuckling his belt and yanking off jeans and pants in one movement before taking up the required position.
